Woot! Although it took a bit longer than I'd originally planned I've finally got this piece in the bag. I'm still gonna try and crush out a couple more paintings in the last couple weeks before the show opens. We'll see how that goes.

Sciolism is an amazingly ironic word to put in a "Word of the Day" calender, since its sole purpose is to superficially boost one's vocabulary and thereby help one win bragging rights in scrabble.

scarify the pococurante ...


Some of these words are almost aggressively obtuse, as if they're challenging us to shoe-horn them into a conversation. I'm not even sure I can intelligently pronounce 'pococurante', which by the way my computer's auto-corrector assures me is spelled obscurantists.

Though I'm sure your sick of receiving them, I will again extend an apology for missing yesterdays word. So here is a photo of the piece currently on the table. I just finished the background this evening.

Sorry for not posting yesterday. I was off enjoying the dulcet tones of an all ska rock show. The shows actually coming back through LA later this week, and I highly recommend checking out the Ska is Dead tour, though mostly because I love Buck-o-Nine.
